"Melancholia"

Trier.
I watched this movie approximately a month ago. I constantly consider what I saw and if I liked it and what I should write about it. I want to be Candy, but I want to be open-minded as well, I want to be honest, but I want to be kind at the same time. So what can I say about this movie that won't lead to my execution from cinema and art- educated people?
Poor Candy, you have once again a hard task to complete.
Let's start for the beginning. I like movies. And I am open to watch different kind of movies. But I don't like every movie I watch. I do not want to study in order to understand a movie. I don't want to do the research in order to reach the understanding. No. Movies should be self-explanatory. Not simple, not boring, but I have to feel something when watching it, to understand something. I don't mind if it is slow or fast, I don't mind about the meaning, I don't want the messages to be straight forward, I like it when a movie makes you think and bears feelings. But I need to understand what I am watching without having a director with me while watching.
To sum up, I watched the movie, I loved the colours, the pictures were impeccable. BUT.
I did not understand it. I apologise for admitting it. Perhaps I am too shallow or it is my mindset's fault that I cannot appreciate masterpieces like this one. (Btw I don't think it is a masterpiece, but you get the irony here).
I was hoping until the last minute of the movie to understand what is happening and why the people act the way they act. If I could, I would happily shoot the main character, or slap her, or something.
Interesting surprise? Yes, the Swedish perfect actor that took part in the movie and I love him and find him gorgeous, Alexander Skarsgård!!
All in all, from the movie, the only things I enjoyed was Alexander, the colours and at the end they die. Sorry for the spoiler.
Shoot me. That's just my narrow-minded opinion!
