"Sinister"
This is a scary movie from 2012, which I have to admit that I watched with a guy. You do know what this means, right? That I should be the scared one and he should be the protective strong persona. But no, we do not like prejudice like this, so we changed the roles. And all in all, I was not scared at all while he was screaming with no reason, if I may say.
Anyway, Ethan Hawke and his psycho eyes starred in that movie. He is supposed to be a book writer, a famous author that writes about crimes that have not been solved, or for police mistakes that hindered the solution of the mysteries.
So, he moves into a house with his family that used to be a crime scene, and of course he does not share that piece of information with his wife and two kids. He tries to understand a sequence of crimes that have taken place throughout the years, from different decades, and children have been missing from all those cases.
And weird things happen to him while he is trying to solve the mystery. How unexpected! :) He tries to find a "boogeyman" that appears to be the basic connection to all the crimes.
Spoiler! The movie does not have a logical explanation. One more reason that I am not a big fan of it.
It was ok, it has 6.8 at IMDb and that is a bit high for this kind of movie, it also has a part 2 which I do not really plan to watch. Watch it. It has minimum or none blood and swearing, but still, if you ask me, the scenes that you were supposed to be scared were too expected.
