"The Stanford Prison Experiment"

A very interesting and simultaneous disturbing movie- my opinion clearly. Based on a true story. 1971, Stanford University. A professor and his group want to conduct an experiment about the behaviour of imprisoned people. So they create a prison into the university and recruit people, 20 males to pretend to be prisoners and prison guards respectively. They pay them, so it is a two-week job.

After the selection of the members of experiment and the creation of the setting, video recorders have been installed so that the experiment can be recorded and further analysed. Specific rules were made for the safety of the members, such as, no use of violence.

However, the guards tried to dominate the prisoners with different ways, making the experiment last only 6 days. The people are almost driven crazy and since the professor and his group is watching and observing closely, they kind of become members of the experiment and take biased decisions.

A nice movie about how people react to imprisonment as well as how researchers can become biased and lose the goal of their research, or as we might say, become natives.

I recommend it. It is a two-hour movie, though.
