"Silence"

OMG! I have not seen a slower and more boring movie in my life. And please, look at the movie's credits. I am lucky I watched it at home and not at the cinema. I would still be crying for wasted money and time. Now I am just crying for the wasted time. Slightly better case.

Martin Scorsese, Liam Neeson, good picture, good concept. Why? Why? How can you explain such bad results? But of course this is just my opinion. And my sister's. And the list goes on.

Long (very long) story short. We are in the 17th century. The stars are Jesuit priests from Portugal that have lost their mentor in Japan. Their mentor travelled there to teach Catholicism but there is a rumour that he has committed apostasy in order to save his life from the enemies of the religion.

So the two priests travel to Japan as well in order to figure out what has happened. Christians are not welcome to Japan. They are tortured until they deny their faith and if they don't, they simply get killed. So the christians are hidden and love God in secrecy. There is a character in the movie that is the most ridiculous character on earth. His name is Kichijiro. He has betrayed the priests a thousand times, he has betrayed his religion, his friends, the village, he then apologises and then he gets forgiven until the next time he betrays everyone. He looks sooooo soooo ridiculous. The only realistic character in the movie. Although I did not understand why he wanted to be forgiven. Just in case God exists?

Anyway. Don't watch it if you ask me, but if you have already watched it, please let me know. I am sure your opinion will be more interesting than the movie itself. Too bad.
